Humans of AIOnline exhibition comprised of three pieces based on a reverse-engineering of the COCO Computer vision dataset
The data by which machine learning algorithms learn to make predictions is hardly ever shown, let alone credited. By doing both, Humans of AI exposes the myth of magically intelligent machines, instead applauding the photographers who made the technical achievement possible. In fact, when showing the actual training pictures, credit is not only due but mandatory.
Online exhibition at humans-of.ai.
This projected originated in a New School class, Data, Archives, Infrastructure, taught by the brilliant, and exceptionally dedicated to her students, Prof. Shannon Mattern. The 2019 update was generously supported by NYU ITP and ml5.js.
